Case D1: Big Data and Design thinking

Complexity
  • Medium – Advanced
Target Level
  • Tier 1: P3 – P4
  • Tier 2: P5 – P6

Objective:
To use life-examples to demonstrate the reason of using data, what is data, how data is recorded and the power of prediction from data analysis. Students will participate in hands-on activities to experience important operations of big data – Clustering, Classifying and Anomaly Detection, which will help them to understand the job of data scientists.

Description:
The activity consists of taught class and hands-on workshops to introduce problem-solving skills from Design Thinking and Data analysis module. This will help strengthen students’ problem solving skills and learn how to use big data to solve life problems.
