“Enriched IT Programme” Partner School students crowned Champion in the “RoboSTEM Hong Kong Open 2019” (with photos)
Enriched IT Class students of The Y.W.C.A. Hioe Tjo Yoeng College were crowned Champion in the “RoboSTEM Hong Kong Open 2019”. The team will have the chance of representing Hong Kong to advance to the Universal Robotics Challenge 2019 in Japan.
Awardees include :
S3 Chan Tsan Kit, Lam Yu Hin, Leung Yat Fung, Wong Hin Pok and Ho Tsz Hin.
The theme of this year's competition was “Building a smart campus”. Students were required to design their own robots with their creativity and programming skills to complete several tasks. In addition, great teamwork was the key to victory as they needed to coordinate with the team members’ robots and solved the problems created by the opponents in the competition.
RoboSTEAM is an annual international competition which aims to increase academic attention to innovation and technology and enhance students' interest in STEAM topics through competitions and exchange activities. The Hong Kong Open was held at the City University of Hong Kong on 7 April 2019. There were 61 teams participating in this year’s competition, which included more than 200 students from 30 primary and secondary schools.
