“Enriched IT Programme” Partner School student won bronze medal in the “International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2018” (with photos)
Enriched IT Class S5 student Lok Kan Yuen of Pui Ching Middle School won a bronze medal in the “International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) 2018” with a total score of 271 points.
IOI consists of two competition days. On each day contestants will be given three tasks to complete in 5 hours and they are required to submit a program for solving the problems given in each task. The source program provided by the contestants will be tested with ten or twenty sets of test data to calculate the corresponding score according to the results, so as to determine the ranking with the total score.
The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) is an annual international informatics competition which aims to discover and give recognition to young people who are exceptionally talented in the field of informatics; encourage students sharing of technological and cultural experiences with talented students from various countries. More than 900 students from 85 countries participated in this year’s competition which was held in Tsukuba, Japan from 1 to 8 September 2018.
