Enriched IT Class students of The Y.W.C.A. Hioe Tjo Yoeng College were crowned Champion in the “Inter-School IT Elite Challenge 2018”.

The competition comprised of two stages, the preliminary and the final. In the preliminary, students were given some skills tests related to Information Technology (IT) and they were required to solve them instantly. After completing multiple skills tests, the top three teams with the highest scores would enter the final. The final was conducted in a quiz mode, which covered the topics such as government e-services, applications, mobile communications, programming skills, the Internet, computer hardware and software knowledge, etc.

“Inter-School IT Elite Challenge 2018” was jointly organised by The Hong Kong Association for Computer Education (HKACE), Hong Kong Cyberport Management Company Limited (Cyberport) and Hong Kong Software Industry Association (HKSiA). Last year, more than 400 students from 100 primary and secondary schools were attracted to join the IT skills competition which was held at Cyberport. The competition aimed at encouraging primary and secondary school students to demonstrate their speciality in the field of technology and enhancing their interest in IT.
