Description of the winning entries :
“A.I.CAMe”, the Gold award entry, is an intelligent sensing device designed to support the visually disabled persons by installing on the ordinary walking stick. Whenever the user presses the button on the device, it will automatically detect and determine the obstacles in front of the user through its built-in lens, and provide accurate information to the user via the Bluetooth headset. The device also provides the GPS positioning and emergency calling system for users to inform their family under emergency conditions. The awardees hope that this device could support the visually disabled persons to explore the city in order to achieve smart travel.

“Augmented Reality Toy for identifying Early-age school kids with Dyslexia”, the Bronze award entry, is an AR game designed for students with special educational needs (SEN). By scanning the bottom of the animal figurine through the AR function of the mobile app, the player will see the corresponding 3D pattern and enter a maze game to find out the correct route to help the animal escape from the maze. Then the program will analyse the player's score and completion time to determine whether he/she belongs to the SEN students. The awardees hope that this game could be able to identify SEN students at an early date and provide them with appropriate assistance.
