“Enriched IT Programme” Partner School students won Gold and Silver Awards in Infomatrix 2018 held at Romania (with photo)

Enriched IT Class S3 students Yau Tsang & Ho Yan Chan and S4 student Wai Fung Chu of Shun Tak Fraternal Association Yung Yau College won Gold and Silver awards in the Infomatrix 2018 held at Romania respectively with their projects titled “Smart Lift” and “Find It”.

“Smart Lift” makes use of thermographic camera to calculate the passenger density. Whenever the lift is fully loaded or no passenger is waiting on certain floors, it will automatically bypass those floors and go to the destination floor to save the waiting time of passengers and solve the problem of stopping at every floor.

“Find it” is a pet rescue and integrated information platform. The platform uses Firebase and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, which allows users to upload data about nearby bluetooth signal to compose big data. It also provide functions including automatic notification, flashing light and alarm signal, so as to increase the chance of finding lost pets.

Infomatrix is an international computer project competition, born from a desire to bring the world's best IT students together. The competition is not just about promoting professional excellence; it also serves to promote intercultural dialogue and cooperation, through the involvement of students and teachers from all around the world. This year, more than 500 secondary students from more than 40 countries participated in different categories.
